By downloading, accessing, or using the Selam mobile application and website, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the service.

1. Use of Service

Selam provides an interactive language-learning platform for Amharic and Tigrinya. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the service for personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to misuse the service, interfere with its operation, or attempt to access it through unauthorized means.

2. Accounts & Security

You can create a Selam account using the sign-in services offered on your device, including Google Sign-In and Sign in with Apple where available. Existing Selam email/password accounts can use Sign in with email. Keep your credentials secure and use only an account you own or are authorized to use.

You can request deletion in Settings > Delete Account or through our external account-deletion instructions. Account deletion, provider cleanup and any retained security, transaction or legally required records are described in our Privacy Policy. Account deletion does not cancel a store subscription.

3. Subscriptions & In-App Purchases

Signed-in free learners can complete all three lessons in Unit 1. Unit 2 and later lessons require Premium access. The introductory subscription offer can be dismissed to continue with the available free content.

The app and store purchase confirmation show the available plans, billing periods, total charges, currency and any eligible trial before you buy. Prices and offer eligibility can differ by region, store and account. A displayed monthly equivalent for an annual plan is a comparison: an annual plan is charged for the annual billing period, not in monthly installments.

• Payment: Native purchases are processed by the App Store or Google Play using your store account. If a trial is available and selected, the store confirmation explains when the paid charge starts.
• Renewal and trials: Subscriptions renew automatically until canceled under the terms shown by the store. To avoid a renewal or trial conversion, cancel before the deadline shown in your store account. Apple advises canceling a free or discounted trial at least 24 hours before it ends; Google Play provides the next billing date and cancellation controls in its subscription settings.
• Manage or cancel: Use the store where you subscribed: Apple subscription settings or Google Play subscription settings. Uninstalling Selam or deleting a Selam account does not cancel billing. Cancellation normally stops the next renewal; the store shows any remaining paid access or applicable exception.
• Restore access: Use Restore Purchases in Selam while signed into the Selam account associated with the subscription and the corresponding store account. If access cannot be restored, contact learnwithselam@gmail.com before purchasing again.
• Refunds: Eligibility is governed by the store's refund rules and applicable law. Use Apple's refund request process or Google Play's refund process, or contact us for help.

4. Intellectual Property & Content Protection

The Selam app, website, and all its original content—including but not limited to lesson databases, vocabulary translations, UI/UX designs, source code, audio recordings, visual illustrations, and the "Anbessa" mascot—are the exclusive intellectual property of Selam Labs LLC and are protected by United States and international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property or proprietary rights laws.

Strictly Prohibited Actions: You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, republish, download, display, post, transmit, scrape, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works of any portion of the Selam service in any form or by any means without the prior explicit written permission of Selam Labs LLC.

Enforcement & Damages: Selam Labs LLC actively monitors for intellectual property theft. Any unauthorized use, extraction of our audio/image files, or cloning of our lesson structures will result in immediate account termination. We reserve the right to aggressively pursue all available legal remedies against infringers, including issuing DMCA takedown notices, seeking injunctive relief to remove copycat apps, and filing civil lawsuits for actual and statutory damages, plus attorney's fees.

5. User Conduct & Restrictions

By using Selam, you strictly agree not to:

• Submit false, misleading, or inappropriate information.
• Use bots, spiders, scrapers, or automated scripts to extract content, audio files, or data from the service.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer the app's source code, bypass paywalls, or circumvent any security measures.
• Use any of Selam's proprietary content or data to train Artificial Intelligence (AI) models, machine learning algorithms, or competing language learning services.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

Selam is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, continuous availability of all language features, or that the service will be entirely error-free.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Selam Labs LLC. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service.

8. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify or replace these terms at any time. Continued use of the service after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms & Conditions.

9. Governing Law

These terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States and the State of Washington, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
