Terms & Conditions

By downloading, accessing, or using the Selam mobile application and website, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the service.

1. Use of Service

Selam provides an interactive language-learning platform for Amharic. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the service for personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to misuse the service, interfere with its operation, or attempt to access it through unauthorized means.

2. Accounts & Security

When you create an account using Apple or Google Sign-In, you are responsible for maintaining the security of your credentials. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from the app's Settings menu.

3. Subscriptions & In-App Purchases

Selam requires a Premium subscription to access its language-learning content and features. Subscription pricing, options, and free trial periods are clearly displayed within the app prior to purchase (prices may vary by region or platform).

• Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Payment: Payment will be charged to your Apple ID, Google Play account, or via Stripe at confirmation of purchase.
• Management: Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. You can manage and cancel your subscriptions by going to your Account Settings on the App Store, Google Play Store, or our Stripe portal after purchase.
• Refunds: All refund requests are handled directly by Apple, Google, or Stripe according to their respective refund policies.

4. Intellectual Property & Content Protection

The Selam app, website, and all its original content—including but not limited to lesson databases, vocabulary translations, UI/UX designs, source code, audio recordings, visual illustrations, and the "Anbessa" mascot—are the exclusive intellectual property of Selam Labs LLC and are protected by United States and international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property or proprietary rights laws.

Strictly Prohibited Actions: You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, republish, download, display, post, transmit, scrape, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works of any portion of the Selam service in any form or by any means without the prior explicit written permission of Selam Labs LLC.

Enforcement & Damages: Selam Labs LLC actively monitors for intellectual property theft. Any unauthorized use, extraction of our audio/image files, or cloning of our lesson structures will result in immediate account termination. We reserve the right to aggressively pursue all available legal remedies against infringers, including issuing DMCA takedown notices, seeking injunctive relief to remove copycat apps, and filing civil lawsuits for actual and statutory damages, plus attorney's fees.

5. User Conduct & Restrictions

By using Selam, you strictly agree not to:

• Submit false, misleading, or inappropriate information.
• Use bots, spiders, scrapers, or automated scripts to extract content, audio files, or data from the service.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer the app's source code, bypass paywalls, or circumvent any security measures.
• Use any of Selam's proprietary content or data to train Artificial Intelligence (AI) models, machine learning algorithms, or competing language learning services.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

Selam is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, continuous availability of all language features, or that the service will be entirely error-free.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Selam Labs LLC. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service.

8. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify or replace these terms at any time. Continued use of the service after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms & Conditions.

9. Governing Law

These terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States and the State of Washington, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
