Selam ("we", "us", "our") operates the learnwithselam.com website and the Selam mobile application. This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our Service.

1. Information We Collect

To provide and improve our language learning experience, we collect the following types of information:

• Account Information: Name, email address, and profile picture (collected securely via Apple Sign-In or Google Sign-In).
• Profile Preferences: Age range, skin tone for emojis, your learning motivation, and your daily learning goals.
• Learning Data: Your lesson progress, completed units, total XP, current streak, and practice history.
• Analytics & Usage Data: Device information, operating system, app usage events, and crash reports to help us identify bugs and improve performance.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide, maintain, and personalize the Selam learning experience.
• To sync your learning progress and streaks across your devices.
• To process your premium subscriptions securely (via RevenueCat).
• To analyze usage trends and improve app performance.

3. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard cloud infrastructure (Supabase). We employ strict security measures to protect your personal information. We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties.

4. Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party services to support core app functionality. These services may process your data in accordance with their own privacy policies:

• Supabase: For secure database storage and authentication.
• Apple & Google: For secure Single Sign-On (SSO) authentication.
• RevenueCat: To manage in-app purchases and premium subscriptions. (Note: Payment processing is handled entirely by Apple/Google; we never see or store your credit card information).
• PostHog: For product analytics to help us understand how features are used and how to improve the app.

5. Your Data Rights & Account Deletion

You have full control over your data. You may view, update, or completely delete your personal data at any time. You can delete your account and all associated learning data permanently directly within the Selam app by navigating to Settings > Delete Account.

6. Children's Privacy

Selam is intended for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices or relevant laws. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the new policy on this page or within the app.
